“Street Dreamz” the name was created as representation of Mankitya’s art. A mixture of graffiti art (writing & drawings scribbled, scratched or sprayed on a surface in a public place otherwise known as the street). Inspired by art seen on the street I was taught by local Adelaide artists in my early teens. Then going on to blend that art form with indigenous art which was taught to me by my mother as a child. I have always been inspired by modern day and traditional dreaming and dreamtime stories. Since completing high school graduating year 12 with a Merit Award in Community Studies – Art in the community I have worked in both the South Australian Education system and Justice System Mentoring. Facilitating Art Therapy Workshops also completing Certificates in Community services and indigenous mentoring. As well as working with Adelaide local councils, organisations such as the SANFL and the AFL and I have also exhibited at Adelaide's leading Aboriginal art gallery Tandanya. Opening a community center including a youth focused art studio/gallery to run programs and community based workshops to help young people find their passion, direction and purpose is Mankitya's street dream.
