As a young self-taught visual artist, Matthew uses painting as a language to tell stories and draw iconic individuals through his eyes. Matthew has been exploring anxiety and addiction watching the people around him throughout his journey. It is a hyper colour mix of bold, bright colours that is heavy influenced by neo-expression and pop art featuring famous icons and characters using acrylics, pastels, ink and pencils on canvas, wooden boards and paper.
Matthew is a local artist that has exhibited in a couple shows and has been in some of Adelaide’s biggest markets doing a lot of live painting in the process. He is very comfortable in front of the canvas and has also worked with clothing, using jackets and jeans as makeshift canvases but now is working with mixed media.
