I am a self-taught artist who loves creating colourful high contrast paintings. I work predominantly in acrylic and watercolour and am currently working on a collection of detailed acrylic bird portraits. These paintings are inspired by my sister and her colleagues, who are wildlife keepers. They take beautiful photographs of their charges that really show off the different personalities of the animals they work with. I find the eyes of the birds particularly captivating and enjoy working on the contrast between the soft fluffy feathers and the hardness of their beaks. I hope that my artwork evokes feelings of joy and calm, a little piece of nature that can be there whenever you need it.
