Jessa Kloeden began her practice with an interest in frozen moments of time explored through both photography and sculpture, but soon became fascinated with short video work. Kloeden often uses herself in her work to represent her different interests and communicate ideas with the audience. She is also influenced by film and text media and with her background knowledge of costume and prop creation, she spends most of her time planning both elaborate and simple sets to aid her final artworks.

SALA acknowledges the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains and all Traditional Owners of country throughout South Australia. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ continuing connection to land, place, waters and community. We pay our respects to them, their heritage and cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
