My art is derived from my perceptions of the world that I live in, the people I share the world with and my experience in dealing with the absurdities of life. I work across multiple disciplines in my quest to make thought provoking art.
The idea for ‘Little Boy’ series of statuettes started after I visited the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. Viewing the information presented there I realised how little I knew about what many consider a pivotal moment in human history, the events of August the 8th of 1945. The series questions the way we process information. They seek to illicit a positive response from the viewer by hiding their dark truth behind mundane surface decoration, providing a visual analogy of what Slavo Žižek would call our subconscious ideological bias.
