Tara ZHU
Exhibition
Tara Zhu, an accomplished watercolour artist hailing from China, has cultivated a deep connection with the landscapes of South Australia. A graduate of the prestigious China Academy of Art and holding a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Adelaide, Tara's work effortlessly blends technical expertise with artistic expression. Her creative process is a harmonious journey, one that she often shares with her growing online audience through engaging watercolour tutorials and time-lapse videos on platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
Her paintings capture the essence of South Australia’s varied terrains, where the interplay of light and shadow, along with the rich, earthy colours of the region, take centre stage. Tara’s love for watercolour travel sketchbooks is evident in her vibrant depictions of the Australian countryside. With each brushstroke, she captures the mesmerising glow of the sun-drenched landscape and the intriguing texture of traditional sandstone buildings, which have long fascinated her.
Through this exhibition, Tara invites you to explore the soul of South Australia—its raw beauty, its architectural heritage, and the fleeting moments of light that define its essence.
