Conversation: Muse and Dream explores the fusion of classical Western aesthetics with contemporary subcultures through a Chinese-Australian lens. Centered on the Chinese concept of 留白 (Liúbái)—negative space—the exhibition uses this visual silence to reflect hybrid identity. Art Nouveau motifs inspired by Alphonse Mucha are reimagined with neon digital lines, tattoo iconography, and patterns. Traditional media blend with digital illustration on mixed-media canvases. This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on cultural intersections and find belonging in the space between heritage and modernity, East and West, past and future.
