Nick HANNAFORD
Exhibition
Nick Hannaford spent much of his childhood on Kangaroo Island and painted his first artwork at 12. He later trained with Ruth Tuck, Joe Caddy, and his uncle, Robert Hannaford.
A school trip to Melbourne, where he saw a Claude Monet exhibition, had a big impact on him. Monet’s brushwork and use of light and color sparked an inspiration that still influences Nick’s work today.
In an age where time is scarce and speed is everything, what happens when we stop fighting for more of it? What do we gain—or lose—when creation is confined to a blink, a flash, a fleeting moment? In this First Impressions exhibition, Nick surrenders to time, producing works shaped by mere minutes or even seconds.
