The venue is the Norwood workshop of SAXMADE New Australian Furniture . It is a friendly, funky, hands on, place ideal for showing the recent work of two retired, well known, architects.
Saxon Rudduck is showing furniture and lighting that is inspired by the emergence of Modern Architecture (Bahaus etc), interest in ergonomic, aeronautical and boat design. The work uses Tasmanian Oak veneered board to create furniture and lighting of unique,
fascinating and serene geometric shapes and forms. The work resonates with an Australian design ethos and the material is beautiful and sustainable.
Russell Prescott has paintings and drawings in his energetic and appealing style.
Both have taken advantage of the freedom allowed now they are no longer working as architects.
