Kate DAWSON
Exhibition
“Surfers” is Kate’s debut solo art exhibition showcasing her love of surfing and the ocean from a unique aerial perspective.
Painting in acrylic, Kate captures the vibrant interplay of sea, sun and sand from above at some of her favourite surf spots and beaches.
Kate is a local contemporary artist influenced by the bold brush strokes and colours of the great impressionist/post-impressionist era.
Growing up on the Fleurieu Peninsula she learnt to surf at the age of 10, and still regularly surfs along the South and Mid Coasts.
Her paintings have been described as “joyful” and able to “brighten any room”, reminding the artist of days spent floating amongst the waves always waiting for “one more”.
