1871 Exhibition celebrates local female artists throughout SALA, transforming the café into a dynamic gallery space. A diverse range of artworks is on display, including acrylic and watercolour paintings, naïve and abstract art, and naturally dyed silk fibres, all inspired by the cafés' sustainability core values "Grind, Compost, Grow" — reflecting themes of process, transformation, renewal and upcycling. Designed as a relaxed and immersive experience, the exhibition invites visitors to sit back and take in the creativity around them. Throughout the month, local artists will be working within the café, offering the community a chance to witness their creative process firsthand and interact with the makers.
