As the world around us lurches and lists, Resistor art rises up, speaking to us of reclamation. Amongst busy city streets and hidden within quiet suburban hubs, exist new and emerging generations of young people standing up and claiming their agency: rejecting the banalities of AI and social media, seizing back their identities from the very institutions which would have them conform or disappear. Resistors are finding spaces, creating community, owning their voices, and striking out in the manner of those for whom the future is promised, because it is. Resistors tell their stories through camera lenses, on canvases, knitted into soft creations, and woven onto digital screens; for those of us living in their world, this exhibition is essential viewing.
