Using mixed media and contemporary art practices, I explore the rich colours, layered textures, and quiet, rustic beauty of abandoned farmhouses, sheds and machinery scattered across rural Australia. These weathered structures stand as poignant reminders of the resilience and stoicism of earlier generations, slowly "Rusting in Peace".
Through the use of texture mediums and the inclusion of real and replica rusted metal elements each piece invites both visual and tactile engagement. This series seeks to evoke a sense of nostalgia while encouraging viewers to recognise the quiet beauty found in natural decay.
