As part of the 2025 MOD. exhibition, FOREVER, we explored the concept of making meaning through culture with Ngarrindjeri, Ngadjuri, Narungga & Wirangu Artist Sonya Rankine, who specialises in weaving. Her practice combines traditional materials with contemporary methods like random weave. As an extension, we asked visitors to engage in their own act of weaving, their own act of marking a beginning.

The random weave pieces made by many MOD. visitors, form the main body of the 'Forever Connected' artwork. This is a celebration of longform collaboration, where small individual moments contribute to something much larger.
