Transcendence is a mixed-media exhibition of installation, painting, video and photography. It speaks to the enduring need to hold onto who you are, with pride and strength, even when you leave your homeland. The work draws on Ukrainian cultural imagery and brings it into conversation with the Australian landscape. Symbols are carried, preserved and reshaped through memory and daily life in a new environment. Here, resilience is about the survival of a persecuted culture in migration, where it is held, protected and kept alive across generations. It is also about return: using what is preserved to renew and regenerate in the homeland. Across the work, belonging is not lost, but reimagined across places and time.
