She by the Sea is a group exhibition celebrating women artists and the diverse ways they express identity, creativity, and lived experience through visual art. Now in its second year, the exhibition hosted by the community led Arts and Culture Advisory committee continues to build on the success of its inaugural showing, offering a welcoming and inclusive platform for creative voices within the community.
The exhibition features works by Betty Wolf, Irene Polias, Jane Smeets, Jane Whitelock, Lynette McNamara, Mel Steer, Nicole Gilding, Carla Blair, Regine Schwarzer, Lorraine Zeni, Judith Sweetman, and additional participating artists. Together, they present a rich and varied collection of artworks across painting, photography, mixed media, and textile practices.
Each artist brings a personal perspective shaped by experience, memory, and connection, resulting in works that reflect themes of belonging, resilience, reflection, and transformation. The exhibition highlights the strength and diversity of women’s creative practices and the important role of the arts in fostering dialogue and connection.
She by the Sea reflects an ongoing commitment to community‑led arts initiatives that are accessible, authentic, and supportive of artists at all stages of practice. Visitors are invited to engage with both the artworks and the stories behind them, experiencing a vibrant celebration of creativity and shared expression.
