Exploring familiar and remembered landscapes through the unique properties of wax paste and beeswax encaustic engages artists Gaynor Hartvigsen and Gillian Keen in a deep exploration of texture and materiality. The malleability and sculptural properties of wax-based media allows for subtle and engaging works which draw audiences into the artists experience of place and time. Textile artist Sue Piggot uses fabric to explore similar themes, drawing on a long history of farming in the Mallee region of South Australia.
