Memories We Carry brings together a series of paintings and mixed media works exploring the interconnected relationships between memory, landscape and ecological change through a regional and familial lens.

Grounded in the agricultural landscapes, coastal environments and remnant ecosystems of regional South Australia, the exhibition reflects on the quiet yet significant shifts occurring within both land and community. Drawing from personal and family histories, the works consider how memories are formed, shared and remembered across the generations, revealing fragments of stories that remain both visible and hidden.

Through the use of paint and repurposed materials, the artworks operate as assemblages of place, memory and journey. Layered surfaces and textures suggest traces of human presence, environmental transformation and the passage of time.
The exhibition invites viewers to contemplate the fragile balance between people and the natural environment; while reflecting on the ways identity and belonging are shaped by the landscapes we inhabit. At its core, Memories We Carry acknowledges both change and resilience, within ecosystems, families and memory itself.
