Crista Bradshaw is a proud Wangkumaran contemporary artist. Residing in Tarntanya/Adelaide, South Australia, Bradshaw grew up without a strong connection to her Wangkumaran heritage. She came to discover that through the process of colonisation and intergenerational trauma, her family had lost its relationship with their language group. It was in her late teens that she began to re-establish this connection. Crista works with forms of expanded painting, sculpture and installation, investigating modes of representation that showcase the ways in which Indigenous and Australian art has evolved.
