My wedding dress is the last thing my mother sewed for me. This year, thirty years since her death, I've unstitched the dress. Now I'm embroidering the panels with the script of 'Pearls', the show I wrote and first performed in 2018. 'Pearls' tells the story of my mother's life and what it really means to live each day as if it were your last. Exhibited in the gallery named after my mum, Pearls, is complemented by a series of short essays and video clips of the process. A meditation on mothers and grief and on the threads that continue to hold us together.
