The Box Collective: Students, Staff and Supporters of UniSA's Bachelor of Contemporary Art
This exhibition of work by students, staff and supporters of UniSA's Bachelor of Contemporary Art responds to the ubiquitous cardboard box and the weekly collection of cardboard from the streets of the Adelaide CBD. Participants were invited to collect at least one of these boxes and to to use or respond to it in any way they chose. As a surface for painting and drawing, for collage and the construction of sculptural forms and assemblages, as screens, as a source of found poetry, as props for performances, or the inspiration for videos, sound works, and photographs. Stacked, flattened, folded, cut, shredded, pulped, deconstructed, represented, and reconstituted, no limits were placed on how these boxes were transformed and what they were to become.
