7 bouquets for 7 reasons
Celebrating my Australian upbringing with Vegemite on toast and beetroot on our salad plate.
I've always been a fan of Margaret Preston's roughly cut native flower prints. I imagined she knew my Grandmother Margaret Jean who was an oil painter (Felter, Spinner, China painter and many other things) in the Adelaide Hills. I just love the patterns on the banksia pods and the dusky blue of eucalyptus leaves. They are calling out for the world of relief printing. I feel that this series will always be with me just like my artist grandmother. I’ve made a bouquet of Eyre Peninsula's coastal blooms, common (some even weeds) sanitised bouquet during the Covid19 Pandemic, rusty billy tin bursting with Northern Territory natives while in Alice Springs and more.
