Helen Stacey and Kathleen Cain are long term Strathalbyn artists, both with professional careers each spanning over 30 years. They share a commitment to contributing to a sustainable world, recognising the impact of settlement on First Nations, land and wildlife. They relish interpreting the landscape (Helen) and wildlife (Kathleen) of their local region and beyond. This exhibition shows the diversity of their studio practice - realist to contemporary, expressive to symbolic. They interpret their subject matter using a range of materials from pastel and graphite to acrylic, mixed media, found materials.
Stacey Gallery is off North Parade in Old Strathalbyn where 1830s history abuts the present. A selection of fine studio craft will be featured. The exhibition is held at the home of artist Helen Stacey. Step into the gallery, visit her studio , see works in progress and enjoy a welcoming cuppa.
