Back in the day tribes were smaller, you either belonged or you simply didn't....you had a role a purpose, you contributed, you had common values you adhered to, you cared for others and in turn you were cared for. You counted and knew you were counted. Perhaps because life was precarious you lived both more in the moment and had time to contemplate nature and why we're here, and amongst you was art and music. Now it's easy to slip through the cracks, in cities millions of tribes are less organic, loneliness, disconnection and lack of meaning can court us. I have so much to thank for my tribes, the giving and unashamedly receiving. My tribes include family, friends, my gangs of football supporters etc.....this exhibition is about the importance of tribes.
