Arts South Australia in partnership with Country Arts SA is pleased to announce a new residency opportunity for a regional South Australian artist at Government House, Adelaide.
Residencies provide an artist with space away from their usual environment and obligations. They provide a time of reflection, research, presentation, production and immersion in a new experience. They often allow an individual to explore their practice within another setting; meeting new people, experiencing life in a new location and potentially integrating elements of that experience into their art. Art residencies emphasise the importance of meaningful and multi-layered cultural exchanges in the making of new work for public display.
The selected artist will have the opportunity to reside at Government House for a research period and, as an outcome of this time, create a new three-dimensional work for display in the Government House grounds. Artists working across a broad range of media are encouraged to apply.
The project will be managed by Arts South Australia in partnership with Country Arts SA and with support from the SALA Festival.
