This page is where we’ll put information & resources for participants of the next SALA Festival.
Key Dates for 2026
Please note that staff will be available to support during business hours only
(9am-5pm, Mon-Fri, excluding public holidays).
Earlybird pricing for 2026 Festival Registrations will end at midnight on Wednesday 8 April (midnight). Staff will be available to support during business hours (9am-5pm Mon-Fri)
2026 SALA Festival Registrations close on Wednesday 6 May 2026, at midnight. Staff will be available to assist until 5pm. Please note that there will be no extensions to this deadline.
Most Awards & Opportunities will close for applications on Wednesday 13 May 2026, at midnight. Staff will be available to assist until 5pm.
Every event that is registered in the Festival will receive a ‘Promo Pack’, which contains:
- A box of the 2026 SALA Festival Printed Programs
- An official 2026 SALA Festival Poster
- A 2026 SALA Festival Venue Sticker
Delivery: Promo Packs will be delivered by a distribution service to the address provided in the registration form. PLEASE NOTE that this service cannot deliver to PO Boxes, nor honor specific delivery windows. If this is an issue, please consider providing an alternative delivery address, or get in touch with the SALA team to discuss your options.
Please also note that the Promo Pack may come as two items: a box containing the printed programs, and another vessel containing the poster & sticker/s. Due to rising costs, the latter may be a long triangular shape, rather than a mailing tube (as used in previous years).

The 2026 SALA Festival Program will launch online at a date to be advised.
Please note that the URLs for online exhibitions will be published on this day.
The free 2026 SALA Festival Printed Program should be available from Foodland stores at a date to be advised.
The official opening of the 2026 SALA Festival will take place at the Art Gallery of South Australia on a date to be advised.
The 2026 SALA Festival will officially take place across South Australia from 1 – 31 August, as it does every year.
The dates of individual events can vary, as long as the event is open for at least one day during August.
The 2026 Open Studios Weekend will take place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, highlighting and encouraging attendance at open studios.
If you are planning on registering your artist studio in the festival, we recommend aligning with the dates of the Open Studios Weekend if possible.

The SALA Online Portal is where you can fill out the SALA Festival Registration form (the form will be available from 1 March – 6 May 2026).
This is also where you can apply for most SALA Awards.
If you would like to put a note on the SALA Noticeboard, this is also via the SALA Online Portal.
Once you log in, you will be taken to your dashboard. If you start a registration form but ‘save & exit’ instead of submitting it, you can return to it via the dashboard (unsubmitted forms will show an option to ‘edit’)

The 2026 SALA Festival Registration Form will be accessible via the SALA Online Portal from Sunday 1 March – Wednesday 6 May 2026.
