Every August, South Australian artists open their studios to the public as part of the SALA Festival. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet local artists and see how they work, whether they are part of a group studio or working from a home-studio. While many studios are open longer, most will coincide with the Open Studios Weekend, which will be on Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 August 2025.

Register your studio in SALA Festival 2026
SALA Festival is all about celebrating SA visual artists and giving audiences insight into their inner worlds, so it only makes sense that we have a dedicated weekend for visiting the places where the magic happens – in the studio!
The 2026 Open Studios Weekend will be held on Saturday, August 15th, and Sunday, August 16th. This is an opportunity to visit the studios of diverse creatives across South Australia, meet the artists, and gain insights into their artistic processes.
If you’re considering registering your group, home, or pop-up studio in the festival, we encourage you to align with the Open Studios Weekend. All you have to do is indicate your participation during the registration process.
Remember, registrations for SALA Festival 2026 are open from March 1st to May 6th.
