Artist Statement I began creating art as a youngster, living in the Arid Lands of Central Australia. Spending a large amount of my life exploring the bush has fostered in me a deep connection with nature, I have always felt at peace in the bush, and attribute this connection to my Indigenous heritage. I started drawing as a child and progressed to painting motorcycle helmets, bedroom walls, sketching anytime there was pen or pencil available. This creativity extended into motorbikes and cars. I started painting on canvas in my 20's, working mainly in acrylics. These days I am working with oils, enjoying the buttery texture and longer drying times that allow me to express the imagery in new ways. A recent move to South Australia has allowed me to capture more urban environments, and the magnificent bushland that is always nearby.
