Exhibition
Janette Gay new sculptural applications are the result of a dynamic collaboration with Saxon Rudduck, a contemporary furniture designer. Janette takes Saxon’s geometric wooden objects and applies her abstract shapes further contorting these sculptural pieces. The space is framed in multiple colour planes, giving the impression that the works fold in on themselves.
Alongside these sculptural forms, she continues her exploration of abstraction through a series of harmonious paintings.
Janette’s designs are informed by the architectural patterns of urban landscape, drawing upon elements of geometry, canons of architectural space as well as relationships between colour and form. She presents a mid-Century palette with other colour ranges and designs that can be commissioned for personalised sculptures and paintings.
Her exhibition sits in the North St Studios alongside Saxon’s SAXMADE exhibition of geometric Australian style furniture.
