SALA NOTICEBOARD

The SALA Noticeboard is a free platform designed to help those interested in taking part in the next SALA Festival to connect with each other.

Artists who would like to exhibit their artwork in the next SALA Festival can use the Noticeboard to make themselves more discoverable to potential SALA venues. Similarly, organisations / businesses that are interested in displaying artwork as part of the next SALA Festival can also use the Noticeboard to make themselves discoverable to South Australian visual artists.

Noticeboard Open

The Noticeboard will close Wednesday 29 April 2026.

How it Works

Since it’s not possible for the SALA team to individually set artists up with suitable venues to show their work during the upcoming SALA Festival, we encourage anyone looking for a SALA counterpart to make use of the Noticeboard.

There are two ways you can make use of the SALA Noticeboard: you can browse the existing posts, and/or you can add your own post to make yourself more discoverable.

PLEASE NOTE

Posts to the SALA Noticeboard are a non-binding expression of interest and entirely optional.

Posting to the Noticeboard does NOT register you as a participant in the next SALA Festival.

The Artist and Venue Noticeboard is now open.
The Noticeboard will close on Monday 28 April 2025 (midnight).

The Artist and Venue Noticeboard for 2025 is now closed.

Although you can no longer create a profile, the lists of artists and venues seeking exhibition opportunities for the 2025 SALA Festival remain available to view.

  • This Noticeboard is not an exhaustive list of available artists/venues. We encourage proactively approaching potential artists/venues beyond the Noticeboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t see any posts on the Noticeboard, you might be early, or the posts that were there may have been taken down after the submitter found who/what they were looking for. The Noticeboard is a dynamic  platform, with posts being added and removed as needed, so we encourage you to make your own post, or check back again later.

No! The SALA Noticeboard is a separate platform designed to help artists and venues find each other. Once you have found each other and planned your exhibition for SALA Festival, one of you will need to complete a registration form in the SALA Online Portal.

All posts go to the SALA team for review and approval, so there will be a slight delay before your post appears.

We will make contact if we need to clarify anything with you in relation to your post.

Yes – think of this as an expression of interest. If your participation is conditional, please make note of this in your post.

For example:

  • An artist might only have enough work to fill a small space, or might require a display cabinet, or may be away for part of August.
  • A venue might only have a window space available and only be able to show works that are unframed.

If you find a venue or artist on the Noticeboard that you are interested in working with, you will need to use the contact details that they have supplied to get in touch with them to see if they are interested in working with you.

Please use all normal considerations & precautions when reaching out to someone via the Noticeboard. Don’t skip any logical steps in organising your SALA event simply because you found the other party via the Noticeboard, as the Noticeboard is simply a platform, not an endorsement of the person/venue making a post.

For information on how to proceed, head to  https://www.salafestival.com/participation/

Once another party has agreed to exhibit with you, the next step is to discuss the finer details of your exhibition – how many artworks, who will be responsible for installing them, will you have an opening night event, which days will the venue be open, etc.

Once these details are determined, a SALA Festival Registration Form will need to be submitted for the event.

Head to our Participation page for more information on these next steps.

If you don’t have any luck finding a match using the Noticeboard, we recommend that you actively pursue other avenues, such as personal networks, social media (you could do a callout), or even looking through a SALA program from a previous year.

Unfortunately SALA does not have the resources to actively match artists and venues with each other and the use of the Noticeboard does not carry any guarantees.
