Artist Statement Mia Fan is a Hong Kong-Australian artist currently living and working in Adelaide, South Australia. She majored in Fine Art at the University of East London, before completing an Honours degree in Art History at the University of South Africa. She also studied Chinese painting at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Art in Singapore.
Mia’s ink paintings explore both traditional Chinese ink painting techniques and materials through contemporary themes, bringing traditional methods together with contemporary ideas on paper. She is currently exploring indigenous South Australian portraits in Chinese ink wash.
