I am an academically trained artist who has benefited from education and facilities at Tafe and University to enable me
to explore techniques and establish my practice. From 2020 – 2023 I hosted open studio days at my home-based art studio on the Victorian Mornington Peninsula. I valued this as an opportunity to see how the public would respond to my current work, largely as I was undertaking it, and this added an extra dimension of fluidity and change to my work at the time. A recent milestone for my work has been awarded a Residency – Gatekeepers cottage Point Nepean National Park,
Portsea. This residency is in the grounds of the Point Nepean National Park in the Quarantine station. The timing of
this was just as COVID restrictions lifted, and in the heart of winter, so it was a very quiet and deserted space to be in. I recently celebrated my first solo exhibition, featuring the works I produced at the Quarantine Station and on the
Mornington Peninsula. I have been energized by the positive response I received, there were so many supportive and
encouraging comments, and strong sales.
