Each year SALA puts on a range of tours lead by expert artist tour guides to provide an entrypoint to the SALA Program. The below tours all take place in the City of Adelaide
Understanding Contemporary Art
Saturday 13 August, 11am
Saturday 20 August 11am
Sometimes you just need someone to explain the significance of an artwork in layman’s terms, and artist Dr Melanie Cooper is the perfect person to hear it from. This tour is for anyone who’s ever thought “my kid could have done that” when looking at art.
Self-guided walking tour
Centennial Park invites you to wander the peaceful grounds and engage with the beauty of nature while viewing a special selection of SALA sculptures as well as the permanent collection. The tranquil gardens provide a chance to slow down, reflect, and enjoy nature and art at its best. Download the map or grab one from the Administration building, and don’t forget that you can warm up with a coffee from Wildflowers Cafe.
Regional Self-Guided Tours
For the first time, we have released a range of self-guided tours! Check them out and adapt them as you please. We recommend downloading the Google Maps app to your smartphone, nominating a driver (and someone to control the music) and heading off on a daytrip to see some art!
